You have pleaded guilty. That is the beginning of the good news.
You are not earning anything by saying this. You are receiving a gift. Romans, chapter six, verse twenty-three: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Here is what to do next.
First, tell God. Words do not save you. Trusting Jesus does. But you can say it to him in your own words, or you can pray this prayer. If you mean it, pray it out loud with me.
"Lord God, I plead guilty. I have sinned against you, and I cannot save myself. I believe Jesus Christ took my place on the cross, died for my sins, and rose again. I turn from my sin, and I trust him alone. Thank you for the pardon I could never earn. Make me new, and help me follow you. Amen."
Second, believe it is finished. If you meant that prayer, God has forgiven you. Romans, chapter eight, verse one: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Your feelings may go up and down, but the verdict does not change.
Third, tell someone. Tell a Christian friend or family member what you decided.
Fourth, start reading. Begin with the Gospel of John, then keep going through the New Testament, and talk to God every day.
Fifth, find a church. Join a Bible-teaching church where you can grow, and be baptized as a public sign of your faith. Acts, chapter two, verse thirty-eight.
And if you prayed that prayer and meant it, we would love to rejoice with you. Press the button below that says, Let us know. You can leave your name and your email, and someone from our team will reach out to you personally. It is completely optional.

Welcome to the family of God.
