- Disable pacman alpm sandbox in Dockerfile (seccomp blocks it in BuildKit) - Move mkarchiso from RUN to CMD so it runs with --privileged at docker run time - Fix output path: mkarchiso now writes to /dist (matches volume mount) - Add syslinux + imlib2 to Docker build packages and live ISO package list - Copy syslinux/ and efiboot/ boot configs from archiso releng into profile - Switch deprecated UEFI grub bootmodes to uefi-x64.systemd-boot - Fix wrong package names: libpam→pam, light→brightnessctl, remove pkexec - Set SigLevel=Never and hardcode reliable mirrors in profile pacman.conf - Add mkinitcpio.conf with archiso hook so initrd can mount the live squashfs Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
OrionOS ISO Builder
Two build paths are provided. Pick the one that matches your host.
Path A — Arch Linux host (native, recommended)
Requires archiso and pacman-contrib.
sudo pacman -S archiso
sudo make iso # runs iso/build-arch.sh
Path B — Debian / Ubuntu host
Requires xorriso, squashfs-tools, debootstrap, grub-pc-bin, grub-efi-amd64-bin.
sudo apt-get install -y xorriso squashfs-tools debootstrap \
grub-pc-bin grub-efi-amd64-bin mtools
sudo bash iso/build.sh
Output lands in iso/output/OrionOS-YYYYMMDD.iso.
Path C — Docker (any host with Docker)
make iso
The Dockerfile (iso/docker/Dockerfile) builds inside archlinux:latest,
compiles OrionOS, and runs mkarchiso. Output is written to iso/output/.
Writing the ISO to a USB drive
# Find your USB device (e.g. /dev/sdb) — be careful
lsblk
sudo dd if=iso/output/OrionOS-*.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync
Or use Ventoy — just copy the .iso onto the Ventoy USB.
